Hello! I was reading the topics in Nationals and saw that last year it was the HoeDown Throwdown! Does anybody know what it is this year? Also who is in Pre-Teen Victory? This is Angie's first year competing in Coed Nationals!  Smiley

They won't announce the theme until sometime in October.  Sad  The suspense is part of the fun, though.  Smiley

Hello Cheryl,

My oldest daughter is thinking about doing Victory as well, is it much similiar to the Queen Competition?  Also, about how many girls usually compete in Victory?

Leslie-
Isis did fantastic in Illinois, and I think she'd do really well in Victory. The 3 required competitions for Victory are just like queen (evening, interview, intro) but with only Victory girls in that age division. All of the girls competing in optionals like photogenic and talent are combined for each age division. Girls in both Victory and the national queen competition perform in both dance numbers. The Victory National title is awarded at the optional' pageant, whereas the division queen is crowned at the finals.

Victory is a mixed thing as far as whether it's 'easier or harder'. Because it's girls who won Victory or did well in optional, those girls didn't win queen their own state. However, in past years (and maybe this year too, I didn't check), it was also some girls who were their state queen the previous year and still hadn't aged up to a new division. The Sweetheart Victory national winner this past year was Sarah Bryant, who was in the queen's division the year before.

In general, there are less girls in Victory than in the queen's competition.
Isabella competed in National Sweetheart Victory last year, and had every bit as much fun as our state queen. This year she had the opportunity to be appointed as a state queen, but chose to enter National Victory instead because she wants to try to win the state title at next year's pageant.
